How Big Are Our Problems?

While he works every day almost breaking his neck by carrying heavy vegetable loads for a measly amount not even enough for a decent meal, we complain about not having a grand party or fashionable clothes or the latest gadget. We complain about our hairstyle, our mismatched lingerie, our waistline, and our pimples.

  1. Once, I lost the sole of my shoes, sa sobrang luma na. Napahiya ako sa sarili ko for feeling so bad over my shoes, when that man clearly had it worse than me.

I keep telling my kids to always be thankful for what little we have, because it is always a lot more than other people will ever have.

Thanks for the reminder, Miss N! poor child though ๐Ÿ™

  2. Dinah,

And these children should be in school studying, playing with friends and enjoying their childhood. When I visited my grandparents in Xiamen, I was very sad to see women labouring with rocks on their shoulders in construction. I am also sadden by the fact that I see children roaming the streets on a regular school hour in Manila. I don’t see any near my home in Bangkok. Sad plights.

  4. He has such sad eyes. It’s not a very just world.

  5. We should learn to count our blessings not our misfortunes. Cause those tiny or little fortunes we have are big fortunes for others.

Anyway eto pala ang bago kong blog.

  6. Tama ka, Jaid. Kailangan tingnan talaga ang buhay in a positive way.

Congrats sa bago mong blog. Dadalaw ako.

  7. Many so much like this child also in the big city. The work may be different but it’s the same child of poverty and extreme need and deprivation.

‘Count your blessings’ — we hear this often said. Better yet that we serve them too by saying a little prayer for such children in our midst near or far. Good to be aware how blessed we are, but much better to serve with a prayer if we can’t manage material help or resources.

Ituloy mo yang ginagawa mo… ang pagkukurot ng konsiyensa through pictures. Who knows it might spark a flame with someone somewhere…. by God’s design.

    Have a good day!

  8. Poor child!

  10. So very true! The world is in a sad state…

  11. But there’s still hope, Fiona. That, I believe so ๐Ÿ˜‰

  12. a humbling post. puts life into perspective.

  13. Thank you!

  14. Unfortunately this will not change in near feature.

  15. Yes, Rajesh. But I am still wishing it will.

  16. This is so true..

Right, Orville?

Salamat at binanggit mo.
