So much can happen in a matter of minutes.
It happened while I stood at Sunset Boulevard in Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte, trying to get away from life and work and work and life. I stood there sharing the whole stretch of the beach with two, no, three persons who later left the beach to myself.
The sky was trying to cheer me up by putting up a show. Very, very slowly, as if giving me time to catch a breath, it changed hues. The colors grabbed my attention. It was pure magic. I was witnessing a beginning of an end, an end of a beginning.
Summer has its own way of tugging at my heart the most. Perhaps because it brings back memories swirling around me like happy shadows. It has its own way of reminding me of truths that I already knew but have somehow forgotten. It has its own way of teaching me to embrace the place, the space, where I exactly need to be.
And so it happened there, right at the moment when life slowed down to the most perfect pace, I fell in love again—with life, with new beginnings…
